Brickstone Realty Lights up Lits!

History of lit bros building

On Monday, September 21, 2015, Brickstone Realty joined by Councilman Mark Squilla hosted a gathering to reveal the historic Lit Brothers Building‘s new facade lighting.

The Lighting Practice designed a dynamic light show to feature the new LED lighting system’s capability. The show cycles through several transitions including a vibrant purple followed by yellow and white to celebrate Pope Francis’ upcoming visit to the City of Philadelphia. The show closes with a slow transition into “candle light” — a warm white light — which will be the typical color illuminating the historic facade.

The Lit Brothers Building, rebranded The Lits Building, is the only complete block of Victorian commercial architecture in the city of Philadelphia and is part of the National Register of Historic Places. The Lighting Practice was tasked with highlighting the facade and other historical features, specifically the classical arch windows.
