The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences
At the cultural center of Charleston, this 240,000 SF facility houses an 1,800-seat concert hall, an art museum, science museum, black box theater, and planetarium. TLP designed all interior and exterior lighting except the concert hall theatrical systems. Flexibility and ease of maintenance was paramount to the owner. The museum system includes movable recessed track with plug-in connections that can be easily modified for changing exhibits. TLP created unique looks for each distinct area of the facility with a limited palette of lamps and fixture types to simplify maintenance.
