Join The Lighting Practice Associate Matt Fracassini, MIES, LEED AP BD+C, at the AIA Philadelphia’s Center for Architecture. Register to attend his presentation on Illuminating Learning Environments, on Wednesday, September 11th at 12pm, in person at Design Philadelphia or on Zoom here.

Illuminating Learning Environments

Advances in technology have transformed how humans interact with each other and our environments. The coffee shop effect has influenced how we live, work, play, and how we learn. Learning is no longer confined to a lecture hall or classroom. At the same time stringent energy codes drive design decisions. Energy codes are impacting higher-education design and the lighting technology illuminating them. Learn about the increasing complexity of lighting energy codes, advances in lamp and control technology, design strategies to balance an energy efficient lighting system with the best lighting quality, and the value of lighting in the WELL design guide.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will understand the impact of current versions of IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 on building design.
  2. Attendees will learn about innovations and trends in light source and lighting control technologies.
  3. Attendees will learn about design trends in higher-education environments and their impact on lighting design.
  4. Attendees will learn about lighting preconditions and optimizations within WELL design guide.

We look forward to seeing you there and participating in the discussion around Illuminating Learning Environments!
