The Arrigoni Bridge, locally known as the Portland Bridge, is a steel twin tied through-arch structure that connects Middletown and Portland over the Connecticut River along CT Route 66. The bridge supports 4 lanes of vehicular traffic and pedestrian pathways on the north and south sides. The Lighting Practice, in collaboration with the design team and ConnDOT, was tasked with developing concepts for a decorative lighting system. The concept design will study static, animated, and programmable illumination using white, colored, and color-changing lighting sources.
