The City of Philadelphia held the 2016 Democratic National Convention on July 25 through July 28. To welcome the conventioneers and decorate the city for the historic event, animated lighting installations displayed patriotic colors and shapes at two major landmarks: Amtrak 30th Street Station and Philadelphia City Hall. Programmable LED fixtures and automated theatrical luminaires swept stars and colors across the east portico and glass bridges at 30th Street Station. Color-changing LEDs and theatrical gobos lit the south façade of City Hall and synchronized with the permanent façade lighting along the Avenue of the Arts.
