The Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program (TRIP) at Terminal A of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport included an overhaul of all aspects of the aging 1974 facility. Teamed with a diverse group of architects and engineers, The Lighting Practice was tasked with bringing the transportation hub into the 21st century. This included creating lighting standards for DFW Airport Terminal A’s public spaces, addressing new lighting requirements for airport security, implementing daylight harvesting for increased energy savings and improving wayfinding for the 31-gate terminal. Working closely with the design team and airport personnel, effective and energy-efficient LED and fluorescent lighting solutions provide an inviting and relaxing environment for weary travelers while addressing security and safety concerns.
