The Hyatt Centric, a 13-story, 175,000 SF, 332-key boutique hotel, embraces local history and a minimalist approach to design. The design team drew inspiration from the Shaker community. The predominately wood hotel interior is beautifully finished in muted tones and handcrafted details. Lighting plays a supportive role in the hotel’s design. Light sources are concealed in architectural details and incorporated into millwork to draw focus to the natural materials, wrought iron details, and period-inspired artwork on display. Decorative pendants, suspended above seating areas, utilize LED replacement lamps providing an incandescent aesthetic with fewer maintenance concerns. A warm 2700K color temperature was specified for all guest-facing interior light fixture types to create cozy and inviting environments in the open and modestly decorated hospitality spaces. The hotel is designed to LEED Silver standards.
