This South San Francisco headquarters, a WELL certified building, incorporates a polished architectural look with an industrial-chic style. The Lighting Practice was tasked with designing a lighting system that supports the headquarters’ many unique architectural features and varied functions while meeting stringent sustainability goals. TLP developed special mounting details to integrate lighting into architectural materials like dichroic glass and bentwood, emphasizing their unique qualities. A cohesive lighting vocabulary between labs and open offices supports the message of connectivity. Lighting also emphasizes the transparency of the building from exterior views by using low-profile, high performance suspended luminaires that preserve views.
