Sugar House Casino was the first casino to open in the City of Philadelphia. Located on the site of a former sugar refinery, this casino has become a major entertainment hub on the Delaware River. Exterior lighting provides high visibility from surrounding roadways and bridges. Façade and porte cochere lighting concepts include whimsical sugar sprinkle and sugar cube motifs. Themes from this original concept were incorporated into the 152,000 SF expansion to provide continuity between the existing structure and the addition. The design team also modernized their approach with LED sources and dynamic color-changing effects controlled with a DMX system. Uplighting on the garage façade enhances the colorful light panels created by artist Lyn Godley. TLP oversaw the programming phase to ensure the delivered end product met the client’s expectations.
