The Lighting Practice’s Philadelphia office has moved to a new customized office space, designed by its own team to enhance the working environment of its dedicated staff. The primary objective of this endeavor was to foster collaboration while respecting the need for privacy. To achieve this, the design team incorporated diverse spaces ranging from enclosed phone rooms to spacious meeting rooms accommodating two to eight individuals. Leaving behind the traditional cubicles and private offices of TLP’s previous office, the new office embraces an open layout, uniting all workstations. At the center of the office lies the Social Hub, a space for the team to connect over lunch or collaborate on a project. The design was originally inspired by a luminous “Prism of Light”, where white light refracts into a spectrum, casting a projection of undulating lines.
The lighting design seamlessly integrates tunable white lighting, enabling daylight dimming and strategically positioned to segment various task zones and tranquil settings. Moreover, abundant natural light floods the office, reducing reliance on artificial lighting during the day. The Philadelphia office is not only a workspace, but it is a dynamic environment fostering creative ideas and collaborative endeavors among TLP’s talented team.
