Leo McIlvain
Designer
Leo McIlvain joined The Lighting Practice in 2023 as a Designer, where he works with TLP’s Special Team for Target. Leo is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Drexel University, where a lighting course piqued his interest in how versatile and impactful lighting can be in influencing the quality of a space. In his role, he coordinates with allied team members, performs documentation of design and construction administration tasks. When Leo’s not designing lighting, he enjoys biking, crocheting, and photography.
What’s your favorite aspect of light?
Its ability to be combined in different ways and create a new experience each time.
What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
My high school architectural design class. It’s what piqued my interest in design and started me on my path to where I am now.
Do you have any unusual skills or talents?
I can solve a Rubik’s cube in less than 30 seconds.
